Primavera have eliminated Roma from the Final 8 quarter final match
despite being down to 10 men. The Scudetto champions continued their
march to retain their crown by eliminating their fierce rivals thanks to
goals from Elez, Minala and Murgia.
Roma had stormed to a 2-0 lead before Lombardi was brought down for a penalty. Elez kept his cool by slotting home.
Just before half time though Lombardi was sent off leaving Lazio with an uphill battle for the second half.
Despite the numerical disadvantage Lazio drew level through Minala. The young Cameroonian is enjoying a splendid season and delighted fans again by turning in Palombi's corner.
Lazio got the winner with 10 minutes to go as a long ball found Murgia who coolly slotted home between the Roma keeper's legs.
Inzaghi's men are now only 180 minutes away from replicating the success of last season.
